There are soft questions about leadership/creativity/empathy etc that you should have some reasonable story. You can be rejected even from lunch interview if you donā€™t give good signals for growth/enthusiasm etc. Backend loop has 2 coding/ design/ Api related rounds most of the time. Based on your year of experience people will be assigned. You should be able to ask questions and clarify requirements. Coding questions may look easy sometimes but they will have follow up questions. We also compare how fast you able to code/ come up with solution. Each round is 1hr so answer soft questions clearly like technical accomplishments etc in less than 10 mins. Understand and solve initial problem in 30-40 mins and also ask if there are more follow up questions. You should make it clear for requirements to make sure you answer right thing. It is not just coding. We need to get signals about your communication as well. Donā€™t write messy code since that is your output to be seen by many people for evaluation. Our feedback is independent. We discuss together but hard no decisions or super positives can steer others. There is one decider but they check with each interviewer. Most of the time we decide next day for hire or no hire. Leveling is not much science. You should not try to get higher levels since you need to sustain that as well. Good preparation makes a big difference. You should also practice design questions. They could go down into very details based on your experience and suggestions in the design

Thanks for detailed answer. By Design, you mean class design like OOP or System design?
