Hi, I'm a 2023 grad currently working as an SDE 1 at Flipkart with 32.5 CTC (Base - 18 lpa, joining bonus - 3 lakh, ESOPs - 5.6 lakhs). I joined Flipkart in last year December. Before that had 6 months of internship experience at Amazon and 2 months of full time experience of working at a startup. I recently received an offer from Deutsche Bank Berlin for Graduate Software Engineer Trainee/ Associate Software Engineer role with a 60 lpa package (all base). Please give your POV between these two choices regarding long term effect and promotions. I am still learning at Flipkart and WLB is not bad here. #engineering #software #swe #flipkart #berlin
Lot of variables. IMHO, Flipkart is a better tech brand globally and most certainly the technical learning curve is going to be a lot better at fk. I find tech at banks is generally a little boring. Major upside is you get to live and explore Europe.
With branchless banks, automated workflows, AI based risk management, cashless societies, investment advisory banks need more software than anytime. Banks need to invest heavily in software.
But should I change companies this frequently?
I would suggest to move to Germany. Pros - Better teammates, less Indians, meaning less toxic work environment - Better Girls and dating lie in general, most Beautiful Indian girls will still be average as compared to the most average German girls(Maybe it's a preference thing, I avoided Indian Girls) - Better QOL, Berlin is almost entirely better than Delhi, Mumbai, BLR combined on almost every level, there's just no debate about it. - More travel options, the more you travel, the more you'd learn. - Diversity, my friend circle include students who are part time bar tenders and some of them works as a cashier, another friend of mine is a video editor. What I am trying to say that moving abroad will teach you to resect every work and won't draw a line of who you spend your time with unlike India. Cons - Away from family, visiting 1-2 times format month should be good, but the distance will always be there - Food, in all of EU, the Indian food is shit, so you that is something will be missed. Overall just say YES to everything, don't be like other indians who ONLY move abroad all the way to make Indian groups ONLY, don't be like that and trust me, your life in next 2 years would be legendary. Also work on your heigine, living in India doesn't teaches any hygiene practices. Floss and brush your teeth twice a day, hit the gym. You will about to realise soon that nobody gives a shit about how much money you make(apart from Indians who you'd meet, AVOID THEM!!) good luck and welcome to EU
Got it! I'm a girl btw 😂
that's ok, goes the same way for the other gender as well! Good luck
So 18 + 5.6 is 32 these days ?
Rest is variable🙄
There is retention bonus, relocation and other stuffs too
Go and explore. I would say. Mind sharing the interview experience?
