Why would Universal Basic Income work ?
Can someone suggest good places in Austin to settle down ( Eventually will buy house) ? But for a year or two will be on rental. Req: Rent Budget: 2k$ Within 30mints from downtown. Good schools Indian community TC:250k$
Round Rock
Stfu. Quit telling people about RR
Why you don’t want to tell about round rock
“Cities in Austin”, huh?
He means near
Come on RH!! Updated for you.
you’ll need to be in “Austin” to be 30mins from downtown. Maybe Pflugerville. Morning & evening traffic was historically shit, and should be much worse now. North Austin / Domain area is popular and where most tech companies have big offices.
Non Indian here, but live in Austin. I think I’ve heard somewhere that most Indians live on the north side. If you still wanna live in the city and have access to fun stuff, stay south of the domain. If you just want a house in the burbs and be within 30 minutes, look into Round Rock and Cedar Park. My personal favorite areas are East Austin, South Austin between west of I-35 and east of Lamar, and the North Loop area. Good luck!
Second this. Fools buying houses in Leander, liberty Hill etc thinking it's austin lol.
AtScale gets it. As soon as you get beyond Austin proper you are sacrificing heavily on QOL. It’s not worth it.
South West Austin off William Cannon and Mopac.
What are you looking to rent? 1 bed? 2 bed? House? 30 min commute with traffic or without?
2bhk. Traffic doesnt really matters
If you’re not factoring in traffic to the 30 min distance, Leander is a fine option. Good schools, decent amount of newer apartment complexes with some of the 2 bed coming in under $2,000. You could look in SW Austin near circle c area, but I doubt you’d be able to find a 2 bed under $2k. In the other directions, you could down Buda, Kyle, or Bastrop. Schools not as good as Leander at middle to high school levels (fine for elementary). Plum Creek area in Kyle has fairly good lower schools. Bear in mind the time to downtown for any of these is significantly higher if there’s traffic.
I think Austin posts don’t need keyword ‘desi’ ‘Indian’ anymore. North Austin is already occupied by us. Apartment complex management is also now trying to learn Indian traditions and culture here to better serve us.
Has anyone opened up a decent chai shop yet? I've been craving some good stuff.
From what I understand Bee Cave is really nice, and not too far from downtown. It is however much more of a suburb, farther away from a lot of the nice Austin stuff.
Why do you think the schools in Bee Cave are a mess? Do your kids go to school there?
North Austin
Move to San Antonio, way cheaper, good schools
🤣
Can work at Whataburger or HEB
