Hey, I'm planning to move to Chandler AZ in a year and a half, but one big concern caught my eyes is snakes and scorpions. I wonder if they're actually common over there especially in the living areas.
Not a huge issue. Yet an exterminator and you will be fine. I lived there for years.
I used to hunt for scorpions in the back yard. They look highlighter-yellow under black light. The scariest ones: my cat found one on the balcony, one got crushed by the wheels on my home office chair (didn’t realize until later), one somehow got in the bathtub.
Scorpions are cool man
You won’t see or find them on streets and in crowded areas, however you will find them in your house if you buy a single family home with some sort of backyard. As people above said, get exterminator every 6 months or so
You can make snake/scorpion wine
Depends where. Usually new developments or places next to them have more scorpions. They can be common tho, but just don't let them get you champ.
As an annendum been loving in a single family home w/yard for a few years and still have seen neither in my house. But know plenty who have. Ask the neighbors is they're in you're area.
For 3.5 years I never saw any in my home .. I live in an apartment complex. I only see them when I visit friends who live in a single family home.. if you live in a clean complex you should be fine.
Theres one who is a widow
None seen in apartment complexes so far. Hiking trials seen a few.
They prefer dining areas more
