the company i work for - bigcommerce - is refusing to make a statement (internal/external) about the current race and police brutality issues that plague our nation. this is super disheartening given that our company is made up of black/brown employees that are grieving heavily in the current climate yet still being expected to produce at the same rate. do you all feel supported at your company? #politics
I can understand silence on social media. But I do expect some acknowledgement for black/brown employees and some space to grieve and think through things.
I would agree that it is a little disheartening to not even have any internal dialogue to open up. In a world where "fake wokeness" is common, I would be increasingly concerned if no effort is being shown to acknowledge the problem internally.
yes... It's sad to see them repeat platitudes to appear "with-it"
I much rather they stay silent than virtue signaling for likes.
Sounds like BC.
I think keeping silence in a politically explosive climate may be a good strategy. Much better than fake wokeness.
