Help me evaluate an offer from Mavenir

I live in Europe but due to my husband's job, we will move to the Bay Area during 2022. I have been looking for a job position in the Bay Area but recruiters rarely come back to me since I live out of the US. Only one recruiter contacted me for a job position at Mavenir. I was interviewed and got the offer. The job is 100% remote but the compensation is more based on Texas compensation. I don't think there will be so many other offers as long as I am in Europe. Do you think I should accept the offer or should I reject that and look for job when I am in the Bay Area? Base: 190k Bonus: 15% TC: 218k YoE: 15 Current TC in Europe: 70k Thanks!

Base is great for Bay Area. Try to move here, and then you can try for jobs with better stocks

Do you mean I should accept the offer and while I am in the Bay Area apply for a better position?

Yes! Usually companies are hesitant to hire from overseas due to having to pay for relocation or the uncertainty whether the candidate will make a big move like that due to family, etc. So take this up, move to the Bay Area, and then look for other jobs. Once you are here, it will open up more opportunities

What is the role ? I briefly worked as intern in their HW division in their office in Richardson, Texas. The company had offered me 120K base for 5 YOE, but I wasn't ready to take the offer then. Since then I moved to Bay Area and they contacted me few times for role in FPGA MIMO development but didn't want to change so soon. It's a fast growing company with great prospects. I might reconsider moving to it in future for similar roles

Technical leader is the role. First I was interviewed for another role which required more experience. The HM thought I was good and introduced me to a colleague. The new HM will define a role based on my experience but most probably it will be technical leader in hardware design or something like that.

Is the TC of Europe accurate? No wonder Europe can’t afford their own military. Absolutely take the offer and start working in the Bay. You can quadruple your European salary easy, no problem.

Yes, TC of Europe is accurate. Health and schools are almost free here but anywaw we, engineers, are very underpaid here in Europe.
