Hi, I'm evaluating selling with Redfin (1.5% list fee) vs other realtors (2.5% list fee). Is there any con to selling with Redfin, that makes the more expensive neighborhood realtors a better option? Update - my home is a run of the mill condo in a good school district. #housing #mortgage #redfin
That's a good idea. Redfin also assigns a local realtor to you. You don't have anything to loose.
My experience with Redfin agent is not good.
They tend to be less experienced and they have to answer all those website queries so they’re more distracted then your average. If your house is something that sells itself it’s probably fine but if there’s anything out of the ordinary I’d say it’s worth finding someone else with more experience.
Redfin agent here. 400+ homes sold. My office team handles the inquiries so I can focus on customers, so not neccisarily true.
No experience selling but buying via Redfin agent was really good.
Updated - My home is a normal condo in a good school district
I didn’t like their fine print. I don’t remember details but something to the effect of you being on the hook for up to a year after closing. If you’re in a hot neighborhood then find a buyer and most realtors do communication and paperwork for 1%..

they upsell lot of services baked into the 2.5% which make ur 1.5% almost the same. u can neg with full service realtors to make it 4% total

Definitely do it. Screw the leeches on society that are realtors
Well, realtors are still involved, but one step away is still better
Well, my realtor on redfin lives in the neighborhood too. So, that argument is not going to work.
