I used to work there and still have many friends there, I’m hearing 1000+ employees roughly 20% across the board cut. Pretty brutal.
That's rough. I assume they would cut people from acquired companies after sufficient knowledge transfers
yes and no. they also laid off 10-15 yr tenured people. many senior managers. many product owners. they laid off VPs and some C levels. They were pretty indiscriminate as far as origins. the HR person who hired me when I worked there was laid off
I worked there from 2013-2015. The week I started was the week that AJ announced his retirement, and I think everyone in my cohort felt cautious about that surprise announcement. By the end of 2014, most of us knew something wasn't right and could sense things degrading. I remember sitting at my desk and reading Glassdoor reviews from 2009 and 2012 saying that private equity/Thoma Bravo had them by the shorthairs and that things were degrading and telling new hires what to expect. And now I share my own "things are degrading" story to everyone else. This has been a long, slow march that has been dragged out by the endless stream of perks they celebrated (and quietly discontinued), but this, THIS is an unprecedented jerk move, even for Hyland. I can't imagine how much worse it got over the years since I left. Feel for all of you.
Not trying to be an ass but what is hyland?
