Not in US branch, but a girl was almost raped by her colleague during her internship at Nio and was fired after the criminal was arrested. From HR: the girl would hurt the company image 😅 Not sure how this could be legal in that country, but be aware of its culture. Source (if you read Chinese 🥹) 1. https://tech.ifeng.com/c/8NsHKIi7q8Z 2. Statement from Nio (pay attention to the date, what were they doing before the victim posted this to public?)
😭
The girl would hurt the company image, but firing her wouldn’t? I mean wouldn’t it make more sense to keep her on at all cost?
In developing countries, companies have huge advantage. So no. The poor victim girl would have no advantage suing the company under the law system in these countries. So it is low cost for companies to get rid of people who choose to fight back.

Updated (not in English though
Things aren’t adding up. One subtitle said said the guy was successful but then in the body she said he wasn’t successful due to her cleverness.
So, you don't really know what you're talking about but wanted to make sure you did talk, didn't you?
Everytime I feel I found most awful place to work at, next place beats it
Society in those countries would be like, " ahh that girl would have seduced him to get a job ".
Fake news
Technically she wasn’t fired - she was an intern who didn’t got converted to perm at the end of her internship. Doesn’t make it fair though. She was sexually assaulted, and yet the company is using the incident to discriminate her.
Fucking awful
