Ive got a confirmation that ebay wont sponsor green card for TN visa holders unless you switch to H1-B. I find this to be a too restrictive of a policy given the current situation, it's very unlikely that I'd win H1-B lottery. Does your company sponsor green card while you're on TN?
TN is a non immigrant intent visa. You risk losing it when you apply if not careful. That being said I got my GC on a non immigrant intent visa with Amazon, lawyers knew the loop holes
Well, the only problem is ebay immigration team and their immigration law firm is not willing to do this.
google sponsors green cards only on h1b , l1 and o1. iirc Uber does the same
Microsoft sponsors them on TN
expedia is switching me to h1b before applying for GC. i feel that is the safer approach.
but you're chances of getting h1b is very unlikely
Microsoft tries to switch to H1B and also filed my PERM on TN. PERM was recently approved. I don't know if after PERM, they will proceed with GC or wait for H1B result.

i dont think its legally possible. u must be on h1b but u must be canadian, so you have our pool and quota. the odds are pretty good for everyone except Indians and Chinese because the applications are way more than the avail quota
What do you mean its not legally possible? Are you talking about dual intent? TN visa doesnt stop you from filing perm or i140, i485. The only risky part is if you dont get to i485 and get EAD in time before your TN visa expires, you wont be able to renew your TN because of dual intent. I know for a fact that many people have gone through this route and got green cards. One of my friend is currently on this and successfully switched EAD couple month ago. And what pool are you talking about? Is this about green card? If it's for h1b Ive never heard of such thing that h1b treating different nationality differently. Can you provide your source?
