Hi , I had my Meta onsite interview . It was spread over two days . I just want to share my experience with the blind community. I am targeting E5 level. I had my phone screen a couple of months ago and I took almost two months to prepare for the onsite interview . I had 3 coding rounds , 1 system design and 1 behavior round. I Won't be sharing the exact question because of the NDA . 1st round behavior : I was asked the standard behavioral questions about my past projects . Challenging projects. Handling differences in opinion amongst team mates .. etc. We had a good conversation and I was prepared with concrete examples for most of the questions. 1st Coding : 2 medium leetcode Facebook tagged questions. I solved both of them. The Second one was a little different from LC tagged . With some probing I was able to get the requirement. I was able to code on time and gave the time and space complexity . Design : I was asked a popular System Design question but I was asked to deep dive into some of the components and show the data flows end to end . The interviewer was interested in exploring different approaches and all the design considerations and the trade-offs between all of them. We had a good conversation and I did a lot of whiteboarding to explain different approaches. The interviewer was friendly and was very interactive and easy to talk to . In the end he said " great design ".. hope he wasn't sarcastic 😄. 2nd Coding round : 2 medium Facebook tagged questions . I was able to solve both of them with some time left . The interviewer was kind of lost as she was not paying attention ( looks like she was simultaneously working on some Production issue) . I was talking aloud and explaining every step but she looked at my code only after I completed the solution. It was not a good experience from the conversation point of view . Not sure what kind of feedback this interviewer is going to write as she was not paying attention. 3rd coding : Looks like this was the bonus coding round for training the interviewers at Meta . Two people joined the call and one person was just observing and the other one was interviewing me . The question was a little different and I was struck at the first question for sometime but later I gave the approach. I didn't complete the coding part but he asked to move on to the second problem. The second problem was LC tagged I was able to solve it right on time but I am sure there were some bugs. Since this round was an additional round I am hoping this round won't be counted against me and won't be considered for the feedback. Overall it was a good experience. Not sure if I have done enough to crack it . Now it's just a waiting game . 🤞 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Update : I got the verbal offer from the recruiter today. No numbers yet. Best of luck!
Yes, interview with 2 people is a training interview.
Are feedbacks from training interviews considered for hire / no hire decision?
Only if person who observed interview was in training, it's called "shadow" - it's when person in training joins to observe real interview. In OP's case it was not the case as they had 2 other coding interviews.
Good luck!
Interested to hear the verdict. Good luck op
