I don't know if it happens to others but Aerotek insisted on verifying my references BEFORE they submitted my job application. I found it quite unethical. They got me an interview though. I'll never work with them again.

It was a biotech role in Seattle Genetics. This was for my first job in the USA. They probably thought I was lying because my work experience was "not local".
Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, and Nintendo do but they’re a really bad company to work with in my experience. I got cut from a contract I did that they managed because the manager said I didn’t know how to do the job when I was literally doing the job like they asked me to. Explained to my recruiter at Aerotek and he said, “Ok.” And I never heard from him after. It was a job I did because I had a month before starting FT after graduation so it wasn’t really a big deal but I’m never gonna deal with them after that.
