I was trying to connect to Wyze labs, as I like the company and their vision, but can't even get anyone to reply to me on LinkedIn. Looking at their employees list on LinkedIn, looks like they only hire Chinese individuals as majority of their employees are Chinese, I wonder how is that even appropriate in the 21st century. #Diversity
How is what you said even appropriate in the 21st century.
How is it not?
Can anything be truly proven to be appropriate?
Tata and infosys mostly hire Indians AND occupying a big chunk of H1B positions. Is this appropriate in the 21st century????????
It is not.
WITCH are 100% diverse lol
So, does it make what Wyze is doing right?
How you thought for moment that maybe you are the one who is discriminatory? FYI, I’m not Chinese and have been interviewing candidates for nearly two years here at Wyze. I’ve never been discriminated here or ever discriminated any candidate. Yes, there are more Asian origin (I emphasize Asian and the word origin because if you look beyond their skin, some of them are born here in US and some aren’t Chjnese) Software engineers if you go just by ratio (maybe 2:1) but the reason to that is a) we are still an extremely small team and not Microsoft/ google so this ratio is quite pointless b) most of these candidates who accepted the offers were of Chinese origin mainly due to the simple fact that they accepted the offer over other candidates we interviewed due to referrals and they gravitate towards other people of their own origin. But again, it’s not like the entire team is of Chinese origin. I’ve interviewed a lot of candidates of various background, origin and been part of debriefs. Hiring candidates in an early stage startup is not easy. And finally c) you’ve not scoured LinkedIn as much as you mentioned because you’ll see that many people from different backgrounds and origin if you look at different other departments in Wyze. I bet that you saw the first few candidates in your search history, saw their name/skin and made your own assumption. Grow up.
Microsoft hires a lots of indians, so does google, is this inappropriate?
Really? When I go on their LinkedIn employees search I see a diverse background of employees.
