Quoting him: "Engineering hiring situation in Bengaluru - thinking of offshoring some work to a lower cost center in SF, Bay Area!" this makes no sense to me No matter how high someone's tc gets it will be lower than US counterparts Thoughts? Source: https://twitter.com/bhash/status/1421845840373555202 Edit: He posted it on LinkedIn as well, https://www.linkedin.com/posts/bhavishaggarwal_engineering-hiring-situation-in-bengaluru-activity-6827821990297124864-KiYc I have never seen someone so desperate #ola #india #salarycomparison #engineering #lowcost
Any source? Couldn't find any
I partially agree with his sentiment. SWEs in India are demanding super high TC nowadays. Startups are finding it very difficult to attract good talent. Not showing up on the first day of work is no more surprise. Candidates are not even letting the recruiter know that they are reneging their offers. Pretty bad situation for employers. But the best case scenario for us!
Same employers exploited software engineers for years by paying peanuts. Now it's our time.
Maybe they should stop bullshit tactics like asking for current CTC in first call. Coercing people to accept offer within 3 days or it becomes invalid. Saying it is against company policy to offer more than x% hike. Making people jump unnecessary hoops during hiring. If they want to squeeze every bit then it's only natural candidates would do everything in their self interest.
Please do. Let's see who joins in SF with their 6 day work week
He smoking!!!

He forgot the conversion 😂
All theses tweets to get public sympathy and trust for IPO but internally Company is in very bad shape.
Running out of money?
People running out of company at very high rate. They are not able to hire at tbat pace, infact very less people are joining
Well surcharge in OLA is also very high when it's raining. And It's raining season in the Indian IT market.
This!
Hiring situation for OLA is always going to be difficult because of their shitty work culture. It's a mistake that he thinks hiring has been difficult because of high pay
Lmao, US companies outsource work in India because it's cheaper here. What was ola CEO thinking?
Maybe smoking some weeds 🤣🤣
