offer evaluation for DS role
Hi, I recently signed an offer with Salesforce. And just now I got an offer from gopuff which is 2X my existing offer. Since gopuff in a private company right now, RSU will vest when company goes public or gets acquired. 1) Need help evaluating the offers (given SF is public and Gopuff is still private) 2) how is WLB and layoff situation at Gopuff ? Gopuff’s reviews seem pretty bad, which isn’t great. But that offer is amazing and gives you the same cash as your entire TC at salesforce. Gopuff would probably give you wider scope and more interesting projects to speak to, but it seems way more stressful. Personally I don’t want a chaotic work environment, so I would go back to salesforce and explain and see if they can up the offer. I would tell gopuff about the other offer (not TC, and not that you have signed it, only that you got it) and that you need some time to decide, they may further up their offer.

Equity will be worth half of that at best maybe a bit more if your lucky. Base seems legit and bonus we haven't got the full target for the past 2 years. Expect 50-75% of the target bonus. Feel free to DM for details

Gopuff equity might be worth nothing. Similar thing happened to me at Rokt, most of these private companies inflate their equity
I am considering 30-40% of current value based on what I have gathered here on blind.
30%-40% is too high considering the chance is very big gopuff might go under before ever going public.
40k is 40k, but gopuff could be anything (insert Peter boat meme) Seriously though, 40k is not a lot. So I would go with gopuff. Also you need to evaluate wlb aspect
Ex Gopuff here. Take the valuation with a pinch of salt. It is likely valued under $2B at this stage and may not survive to an IPO. The IPO story has been going on since 2021. The people are good though and so is work culture, remote friendly. Source: Worked there for nearly 2 years
Need more info. What level now, what level at salesforce and go puff, how many yoe, which domain.
