Netskope

Hello Blind community, Can anyone comment on the company called Netskope? I know they are a pre-IPO unicorn, and it might be nice to join such companies to get some options cash in the future. I'm specifically interested in their culture and wlb in the software department, I'd be thankful for any input. Thanks.

I think upside on pre ipo stock appreciation may be limited at this point for new hires. They just raised another $300M at a $7.5B valuation less than a month ago.

The strike price is likely around $7 and at 7.5B valuation the preferred share is about $22. Not much potential at this point I guess.

Hi, how is the provisioner team there in Netskope?

Netskope fmKe84 Jul 29, 2021

Revenue is solid, ballparking compared to zscaler there's plenty of upside left even at $7.5B. The problem is that most offers I hear about have been stingy on the stock side. So even though there's plenty of stock upside, you may not get enough shares to capture that. That said, I have heard of occasional hires getting outsized stock grants. Also, the eng team quality varies _widely_. Some are very strong working on cutting edge stuff. Others are very incompetent and trying to use process/program managers to cover the fact that they're struggling to deliver. I work at Netskope (on a team/project I really enjoy), so I'm biased, but if it were me, I'd do an interview panel and see if you click with the team and see how many options they offer you. You'll get a vibe pretty quick whether it'd be a good cultural fit or not. And I'd refuse to spend any time beyond a basic interview panel until you got a verbal pay band description so you know whether you're in the same ballpark or not on the comp side.

This is the best advice here .... Culture and team quality varies widely team to team. I personally see a downward trend over the last few years, but there are others who seem more optimistic. Your personality and tolerance for BS will decide how far you will go.

How is the (provisioner Team)? Also after a year if I want to move out, can I sell the stock?

It's the most under fire team in Engineering. Code is really old and unmaintainable. The pro is that there's a chance to start from scratch in rewriting it. It's also a very visible team - but that can be a pro or con depending on how things turn out.

And of course you can sell the stock if you decide to move out
