Hi folks, I recently had an onsite with GitHub. Prior to that, I had a call with the recruiter in which they shared the TC for this position. Base: ~120k RSUs: ~50k over 4 years Signing: 0 Bonus: 0-10% + 0-10k RSUs The base looks OK, but I’m thinking of negotiating the signing bonus and stock. But, the recruiter mentioned that this was the “final number”. Is this really true, or is there some wiggle room here? If it’s the latter, would I need competing offers, or can I just use expected TC based on my unvested stock? I am really interested in joining, but I’m also looking for the best offer I can get. Thanks!
Nothing is ever final, you can always ask for more. It's never a guarantee but if you never ask you'll never know
Good point, thanks.
As far as I know, gitlabs comp is fixed on a formula. So there is no negotiations. https://about.gitlab.com/handbook/total-rewards/compensation/compensation-calculator/

I recently accepted GitHub offer, here is the pay they offered for business systems analyst position, posted position requires 2+ years of experience, I have 5-6 years of experience. They offered following to me. Base -135k Stock -72k vesting over 4 years Sign on -2K Bonus -0-10%, upside upto 20% for exceptional performance. stock option-0-16k and upside up to 30k for exceptional I live in Central Valley of California, not sure if I should have negotiated more but I took it considering in GitHub I will have potential to growth and MSFT name in my resume, for looking into long term I felt it’s a good thing for me to take this offer.
