I work at Scotiabank in Canada, and Scotiabank has some kind of connection with United Way. This year, my manager came to me to donate, I said no to it because there is another organization I have been donating for years. He said okay and few days later showed me that my name is on the list of people who did not donate and forcing me to donate. I feel like it should’t be forced like this.
i don’t believe lol u for reals?
While I feel that it is important to donate to charity, it is a private choice as to how much and to which charities. No one should be pressuring you about this at work. A quick call with a good employment lawyer is in order.
This doesn’t sound right..There is a clear section in one of the mandatory trainings which states no one - NO ONE can force you to donate to any charity etc etc.
UPS does this. I was being voluntold to donate if not be shun out by the rest of the team. UPS a large partnership with United Way. The finance department prints out a report every year to “ask” employees to donate.
Yeah that’s pretty weird that they are coercing you to donate to a charity.
