Hi @TuSimple folks how do you like working there and what does the pay look like? I hear you have an IPO coming up. Do you have stock options or equity? I see some positions I like and I am open to relocation to San Diego or Arizona for the right role and compensation. Can you guys please help? #auto #tusimple
Pay is low, no equity given (at least not 2 years ago). I wouldn't bother. Tusimple is only considered a major player because they were first to the market. The whole house is built on rushed stilts. I've also heard the work culture sucks. 1 week vacation, long hours, etc.
Have you interviewed with them before? What was the offer?
None of these are true. There is equity. Starts with two weeks vacations and 10 public holidays. Havenât seen mandate of long hours. More just people doing extra as they want to achieve more
And to add, there's no 401k employer contribution which may compensate to free food every work day. Also, medical is employer paid however no hsa employer contribution which equals both. Pay is moderate don't expect huge jumps like some in bay area companies. Wlb depends on team.
I spoke to a recruiter for an architect role and the compensation they mentioned was 190k. Is that low, typical or on the high side?
Architect is staff or level 5/6. Is that base or tc? That's high side for tusimple. If it is for tuscon then you're getting huge spike. If it is for sd still a good base. However, do your research again, they're are no private investors in past months that's why they are rushing to go public some post mentioned as well. Hope this doesn't go like NIO
I made low 90k TC while Chinese counterpart was >$175k TC for same role, YoE, and highest degree. Wide pay gaps everywhere
100% accurate. The company promises bonuses but never gives them out. The offer letters are inaccurate, employees promised stock but never given any.
Not true. I sent out dozens of offers out so far. Never discriminated on that. Bonus is met if youâre top performers
itâs a lot of smoke and mirrors. donât be fooled if you sign up for one location and the toxic manager changes it
I am heard of a TuSimple employee who commit suicide after poor treatment over many years, is true?
all the negative comments here are true
Did you join TUsimple then ?

For sure not everything are perfect given this is a fairly young company in a unique industry. But many talented people and great technology. Most notably you can often see and feel people's internal drive to achieve the vision as a group. Obviously pay depends on your level. So without details that's hard to answer. Feel free to direct message if you need help.
