Hi All, I am currently on an F1 visa with one H1B lottery attempt left and my F1 visa will expire in 8 months. If I do not get the H1B visa next time, I plan to opt for Day-1 CPT. I would like to know if it's possible to apply now to companies that support Day-1 CPT or transfer to Canada. Considering my visa situation, will they consider to hire Me or skip due to visa thing ? I have heard that Amazon sponsors H1B visas after a 2-year period if you transfer back to US from Canada on a J1 visa, which is not the path I prefer. Meta may not give you a chance. As you might be aware , Meta asks for the work authorisation in the beginning itself before you give your phone interview. There was another thread in Blind, where the person was in same situation regarding one year left on OPT as well no H-1B. Meta after initial phone with recruiter did not proceed further with that person. I guess Msft is a good bet for you.
