HRBP at Meta is shit scared that they would be laid off by Zuckerberg and in order to protect their jobs are creating useless work by doing silent layoff through PIPs. All the Meta hiring happening right now is essentially hire to fire. Please Don't join Meta even if the pay is slightly more. Wait for Market to get better.

How much is pip quota at Meta?
Underperformers should be worried
Sounds like everywhere else at the moment as well
Tech as a whole is oversaturated. Beat to exit now and come back once the dust settles
There will always be a constant supply of H1B
Meta = Amazon + free food
And equipment refreshes every 2 years instead of 4
I think they bumped it to 3.
I do not see a quota in this message. And I have not heard about quotas over here. Though that does not mean those do not exist - maybe I just do not know. As for the ratings - yeah, low performers get fired. I know two developers who got a boot this year, but they had two MM ratings in a row. So, they saw that coming and it is a known thing. There are rumors that even one MM might get you in danger now, but only rumors so far. "MS" (meets some) is getting kicked much faster. MM get a chance to turn things around.
What's the unofficial quota for Meets Some ?
I have not heard about any quotas. My director told me that only a handful of people in the whole organization get Meets Some, because it usually means for serious underperforming. Like when somebody found a better job and just wants to chill a bit in between. Meets Most is a more common thing. But I do not know statistics.
Wow 😮
Thanks I'm officially blind now 😔. Pls use dark mode
I wouldn’t be surprised. People want to play the “Blind isn’t indicative of the company as a whole” card when it comes to critiquing companies on their anti-worker policies, but Amazon’s PIP culture is being replicated and implemented in tech companies at scale. The same thing happened to me at MRM, and PIP quotas are a real thing that tech workers have to deal with. It doesn’t help that many people here (including myself on occasion) blame the tech worker for being put on PIP as opposed to the company. I would outright avoid joining any company with a PIP quota, no matter how much they’re paying. That extra stress isn’t worth the extra TC, especially if you’re joining a company that has terrible politics like Amazon or Meta. TC: 105K
You mean performance management? Yes always. Meta is a place for high performers. It's not a silent layoff, that's always been the philosophy
But you are high performer, right? Then no need to worry 😏
