All my dreams shattered. Didn't expect to see this day. My manager turned out to be brutal. Never thought MSFT would be so cheap to let go of its employees. I may not have been meeting the expectations, but I was definitely not this bad to be terminated. Every exaggerated documentation, accusing of wrongdoings for nothing, just to save some severance for a 2.7 Trillion firm. Shame on you. And Shame on myself to have had thought so high and great about MSFT. Update: no severance, no benefits, no courtesy good bye, nothing. TC 0
I don't know if that makes you feel any better, but Google has also been putting a lot of people on pip. I mean the good ones. In my team, the kick-ass performers were given avg ratings and the good performers were struggling to get an avg rating. The market is in a bad spot and all these companies are just following each other. Hope the tables turn. Shame on all these big tech trillion $ companies laying off people on the slightest stock drop or worse yet, while recording high profits, and adopting practices that make employees miserable. I have lost trust and respect for all these big tech companies.
Are they doing pip in India. Mther fking hr is behind me to give interviews even if i am not prepared.
Well said. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Same here. Used to be very attached to work and take my job very personally. Bald headed Nutella and the evil hawk threw me (us) out even with record profit. Mofos can burn in hell. 🤬🤬
It’s been a long time since msft was held up as an elite employer. This is just a reality check to you OP.
Better than ‘New’ lol
Location?
Isn't Satya 10K quota not over? Why did he lied on the numbers?
He is bloody bald lier
Seems like OP was set up for a performance based firing i.e. not a layoff.
Welcome to the club.
Last rewards? How many years at msft? Wonder if you were targeted due to being new
It doesn’t work that way. There are no conspiracy’s to target new people. You either do the job or you get let go it’s that simple. Sure there are shitty managers but one bad manager can’t fire someone on their they have to have proof and give multiple warnings. It takes at least 6 months to fire someone from the time of first notification. Once again laid off is a different story.
Not trying to be a jerk but why wouldn't Microsoft let go of its employees? I don't think it's ever not had a reputation for layoffs.
Pre 2010 or so Microsoft NEVER did layoffs. It’s been different since then.
https://money.cnn.com/2009/05/05/technology/microsoft/index.htm Apparently it started in 2009
Employment lawyer asap
Even for workers on visa? Lawyering up may sound like the right thing to do but it may work against some individuals who plan to stay in the US long term. Or some people just don't know how to do it or how to do it right, when they are up against corporate giants and their team of lawyers. Can I also add that I really hate HR and company lawyers? They are the worst.
OP admits to not meeting standards
Do you have the determination and the ability to fight for your lawful rights and benefits? Simply Voicing out here isn’t going to get back what you should get. And it is not going to deter your previous employer from doing the same thing to other employees. My former employer unlawfully dismissed my employment. So I fight back by taking legal actions against that employer and its managers to the Court. Guess what, I taught that employer and its managers a good lesson. That employer has spent around $400,000 in responding to the legal action that I put forward; further, the wrongdoners (those managers who were also sued by me) have all been let go or abandoned by the employer.

Since people still can’t wrap their minds around the fact the Gaza death toll hasn’t changed
Sorry to hear that. Msft is most ruthless company in world. They cry for money in giving campaign and force people to give. Its always an optional thing. But shty company and Nadella can do anything. They will pay the price
His manager isn’t the exception. Microsoft had the highest percent of toxic managers in my experience. Plenty of middle managers there are lifers. Everyone knows msft was the most toxic place until Satya arrived. Unfortunately, some of them still carry that mindset (despite msft always selling “growth mindset”). Source: I was at msft
“Growth mindset” became another tool in managers hands. They will repeat it at any moment you have your own opinion different from their, even if you have facts how something could be done, they will question your “growth mindset” to prioritize their opinion. When you fail they will tell you it was your decision and you must be accountable for it. PiP or low rewards…
