Is that too long? Well my career suffer from that?
What is tc
Total compensation. Income. Sadly yearly salary increases in one company almost never keep up with the market.
So the increases are more? I think I should finding that to be true
Jesus, yeah...I'm not a SWE, but I've had to hop every 18 months or less just because companies are set up to ignore value increases. I won't be comp'd at the bottom of the market, so I hop.
Yeah, your career will suffer unless it’s a FANG or unicorn where hopefully you didn’t sell any shares and are no sitting on a huge pile of cash. Always keep learning and growing. Each company has its own unique culture and system. Expose yourself.
Nah. Even with FANG you can't spend too long
If you’re ok with 12 years of salary compression, you’re fine.
OP's manager told him he makes well above what most software engineers make at 100k
People who wait for GC have no choice than wait for 7-12 years
I had Japanese colleagues who were at same place almost similar profile for 20+ yrs. I have colleagues not in US tough who are at same company for 15+ yrs. They are happy with work-life balance. If this make you feel better then continue. If you want a change try within your org if nothing intrests you then new company.
Yes, if you ever want to change jobs companies and hr will think you are too institutionalized into one method and will have difficulties doing things a different way. They will prefer they person with the same experience over 3 to 4 jobs oppose to all at one company.
It doesn't matter. I hired people like this in several jobs.
So you now represent every company in the world?
How can you ask this question without TC on blind? 🤦
Not as much as your TC
