A Google recruiter reached out to me earlier this year for an SWE role, so I spent the past few months preparing and solved 500+ Leetcode problems. The interview is scheduled for next week, but now I'm hit with "sorry no headcount", like many others here. It's unfortunate, but there is a chance I can't take this opportunity even if I pass the interviews. While looking for other jobs, I've been rejected from every big company or startup I've applied to at the resume stage (except Yelp). I suspect it's because I don't have a STEM degree. I'm confident I can pass standard big tech SWE interviews. If anyone could refer me for a APAC or EU based generalist SWE role, I would be very grateful. You didnt get any calls from interviewing.io?
The companies on there are US based. I need to be based in APAC or Europe for personal reasons.
You had an on-site interview scheduled for next week and it was cancelled???
Have a look at my company’s portal at your location. I will refer you.
This is unfortunate.
Do they ask leetcode questions in EU and APAC?
"Top 5% on interview.io" Put that line on the top of your resume. If idiots don't pick you only because you don't have a degree, you don't want to work for them. I'd pick you, but I don't have or know of any APAC/EU openings. Keep approaching leaders through your network or even LinkedIn. Someone will give you a break among the people you reach out to.
Keep on applying bud. Do not let this break you down.
