I want to buy Tesla model Y in 2021 but until then, I need a car. I want to buy a reliable compact SUV now (most likely recent used cars) with least depreciation in value in 2 or 3 years.
The older the car the lesser will be future depreciation.
Not exactly true, although obviously a $500 car wonât depreciate much. But with a used car you want to keep an eye on big ticket maintenance items like timing belt. A 5 year old Honda or Toyota with less than 60k miles and a clean carfax report is probably your safest bet, but check the maintenance book.
Or used
Reliable japanese cars that are a few years old donât depreciate as much
Honda, Toyota. 4+ years old.
This is the answer.
Pretty much any Japanese model. Get used cars. You can sell them at pretty good price.
Honda civic 2008ish, cheap and reliable and cost will be minimal, might lose like 1k when you sell
Toyota/honda = Lowest depreciation and highest reliability, pick used or new depending on ur budget
Honda Accord
Buy an old suburu or Toyota. A few thousand and you can sell it with minimal depreciation. Won't be the best car but it'll run reliably (or be cheaper to fix if it breaks down)
Lease then depreciation is not your headache
