Recently I got an offer for technical solutions consultant from Google. I have been negotiated the offer with the recruiter for two weeks already. He tried to push me to have the final decision by the end of next week and he said there are some other applicants onhold. On the other hand, I will have the final on-site interviews on the coming Thursday for a full stack developer role in Morgan Stanley. Company wise, I prefer Google. But role wise, I would prefer developer role more than consultant. Do you guys suggest I should take the offer first before they take it back? Or should I ask the recruiter to delay the offer a little bit more so that I can negotiate with the competing offer from MS(if I could get the offer after the on-sites) ? Any advice is appreciated!
You have think between Google and MS. Everyone knows getting into MS is not complex as getting into G. Accept google offer and proceed with MS. If you end up getting MS, decide accordingly.
I see. So maybe I should accept the offer first. If I get the MS offer and it is better than G, then I might renege the offer.
You got it 👍 best of luck!
Can you please share the offer details
Don’t fall for pressure tactics of the recruiter. Try to delay as much as possible and be willing to walk away. Even though company name matters (I.e Google) the role matters much more. You can reach out to recruiter later even if you are forced to walk away.
On the other hand, Google is an actual offer, MS is a chance
Should I try to delay the offer a bit more by saying I am waiting feedback for another offer?
