Advice needed for Traffic class b misdemeanor
I got a class b misdemeanor for an accident. I basically zoned out (Micro sleep) and hit a sign post followed by nocking down a tree (at about 40 mph). No one was injured and no third party was involved. It was totally my fault. I have a almost clean driving record with one speeding ticket 7 year ago. How serious of a issue is it and should I hire a attorney to represent myself or should I represent myself? class b misdemeanor says imprisonment upto 6 month and/or fine upto 5000$. This is really worring me. Thanks.

You need a lawyer. Unless you were awake for 48 hours before your accident you should also talk to a doctor before you fall asleep again and something worse happens. Falling asleep while driving is a strong symptom of a sleep disorder or similar health problems.

Was your vehicle operational after the accident? You could probably have just left the scene if there's no other party who were injured or had their property damaged.

Thanks all. I have contacted ARAG for a attorney. They are looking to find a attorney for me since there is none in there Network in Yellowstone area. Will update once the final outcome is known.
