Long story short: New grad. Managed to get interviewed by Fb, Robinhood and 1 hft firm... ghosted by everyone else this cycle. I've decided to join Microsoft, but I'm worried about my exit strategy. TC: 170k + 55k signing
You'll be fine.
I have no idea about Netflix interview pool. Google casts, I think FB too, very wide net and gives out interview invites quite easily. Getting an offer is the hard part.
You'll likely start getting contacted by them on LinkedIn. Most recently, I've been contacted by FB, Uber, LinkedIn, Palantir, and Amazon (AWS nearly every other week).
Which location?
West Coast and NYC?
Which location are you working at though?
It's easy to get interviews in general.
Is your 170 base? That’s a lot for a new grad?
170= Base, stocks and expected yearly bonus
How sad these new grads are? Before even joining the company these fuck up are thinking about exiting.
I swear. This has to be a troll post or this guy will never find happiness in anything.
It's not a troll post, these new grads are s**t holes.
A few years into msft and I've gotten interviews with Apple, FB, G, Snap, Lyft, Square, and several more just by applying online (no referral) and get LinkedIn recruiter messages all the time for others (Amazon, Tesla, NY FinTech etc). You'll be fine, just put time and effort into your resume. Just having a big name on it isn't enough, show what you've worked on and the impact it had.
Not too sure why you would want to leave MS considering how they’ve transformed in the last 4 years. Well when you leave refer me to take your spot :)
I hope you get interviews. If you can't then people like us who never worked at faang before have zero chance
Lol
I hope so too. But this cycle has been brutal for me even with msft on my resume - Ghosted by Google after being referred by two L6 and L5 engineers. - Ghosted by LinkedIn after being referred by a staff senior swe - Rejected by Apple, Airbnb, Bloomberg, Citadel without even a coding challenge. With referrals.
