Given that Airbnb now distinguishes between ML, stats/experimentation, and analytics for its data scientists, is there a major difference in comp depending on these? Most interested in analytics one which seems like essentially a data analyst role. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/one-data-science-job-doesnt-fit-all-elena-grewal
No, everyone is paid per level, which does result in some pretty overpaid analysts. The DS team used to be analytics but rebranded a few years back, but the emphasis on analytics over the likes of ML still holds.
Thanks. Any insight into interview process differentiation then? Do all DS interviews have the same level of rigor or does it differ depending on analytics/ml/inference?
@greelo could you please share typical TC for DS team with 3 years of experience?
