The hr tagged me for L6 position in Amazon Interview. I have a total exp of 5.3 years. When I asked the HR he said, lets see if you can get through else we will see something else. Wont tagging a candidate with less exp to L6 lower his chances... PS: they didn't have a L5 TPM opening.

I don’t see this as an issue. Recruiter may be submitting you for L6 Job ID since L5 may not there at the moment. Based on interview feedback if everything goes well, they will offer L6 and if they see experience as an issue then they may put you in L5.
It depends. Ask your recruiter for clarification on how he/she is going to handle the rejection. They may want to take you to a lower level interviews with other teams if L6 doesn’t go through, the. it’s actually increasing your chances. Recruiters are interested to get you through so your recruiter may think it’s maximizing your chances knowing how the team he/she works for interviews.
