Offer: 175 base + 85 stocks + 75k sign on for first year + 55k sign on for second year. Location: Palo Alto Yoe: 4 I have a very similar offer from a good startup but growth potential for their stocks is huge. Wondering if this a good Amazon offer or is there room for negotiation. This is their initial offering. Current TC is close to what Amazon is offering.
The base is good but ask for more stocks / sign on. The offer I had for Seattle L5 had 140 RSUs and 100k +90k sign on.
Thanks for sharing. They have a maximum of 280k TC for L5 though. Is it worth asking for more bonus and RSUs at the expense of base?
Only if you plan on staying all 4 years. Amazon barely grants any of that stock the first two years (5% and 15%). At Amazon, I say base + bonus >>>> a few extra RSUs when the majority of people dont last long enough for them to vest completely.
Reject
Do you know abt first 2 yrs RSU vesting %? Are you sure you will be there for 4 years?
Its the standard. 5, 15, 40 and 40 percent for the first four years. I dont really have to stay 4 years though. Assuming no stock appreciation, TC for third and forth
* years are lower than the first two.
Huh? First year vesting is 5%. How is that higher?
dammit! engineers get a cash sign on bonus? in addition to RSUs?! Product dedigners don't grt either of those in this industry, AFAIK. unless you know then tell me which company so I can go work for them!

Why uber to amazon?
More relevant work mostly. But just curious, is Amazon a step down in your opinion? I hadn't heard of this before.
Step down from Uber? Definitely
