Is it common for amazon to give you a low ball and make it looks super high? 3rd and 4th yr tc are 90k less than 1yr. Recruiter spent 30min emphasizing only 1yr compensation. Amazon expect their hires know how to calculate compensation, right?
Less with your RSUs? That is very unusual
To make up for 90k/yr and given I am joining at the middle of the yr, i need to get a refresh of 240 per yr. is it common to get this at amazon!
Amazon calculates a default growth rate for stock. In my last 7 years it has beaten that rate. Not sure about how long this will last. So the difference is likely that you didn’t apply that growth rate. Also by year 2 you will get more stock so overall comp does go up
But this is way too complicated to calculate, staying at my current company, my tc will go up yr by yr too
I think the fb comp is way more straight forward .. i don’t disagree. I was at fb btw so I get it. At Amazon you are just betting on big stock growth and comp goes high.
Amazon expects 15% stock growth each year. If you factor that growth in is it still a decrease in the 3rd and 4th year?
Oh my, you are right. Is this a well accepted concept in Amazon. If so, this mean the recruiter has to follow, and there’s little chance of adjustment? This is uncommon, first time I hear of this theory
Yeah, that's how they project the RSU refreshers. I've been here 8 year's and it's been at least a 15% growth in stock price each year, but who knows if it will last
Give the offer details and we would be able to help you more. With base, signon y1/y2, and RSU number we would be able to calculate each year TC
Your RSUs cover up 3rd and 4th year, if you stay that long in company 🙄
No, they don’t, that’s why I got a drop on tc after first 2yrs. Even the second year I got less sign on
Yes they do. >Amazon expect their hires know how to calculate compensation, right? RSU have 5/15/40/40 breakdown. Can you calculate your correct compensation for year 3/4 now?
