So I was fired in 2017 for complaining anonymously online about a new amazon product (seems I pissed some VP off and got fired a couple weeks later with no warning. They hunted down my info and figured out my identity, showed it to me in a surprise meeting and fired me). I’ve been wondering if anyone knows the rehire policy (and if it applies to subsidiaries like Twitch)? I keep having Amazon recruiters reach out. :|
What makes you think they did not mark you as ineligible for rehire ?
That’s what I’m asking
What complain did you make?
Hah. We acquired a product, swapped the color scheme and rereleased it with the same bugs and issues. And it was hailed as some big product release
Seems like echo show. Also that's not just complaining, I think that's potentially saying Amazon ripped someone off
Simple - if they reach out - move forward
Not currently, but in the future I’d like to know what options I have open
🤣🤣🤣
Amazon recruiters are indiscriminate spammers. They have no idea that you previously worked at Amazon. In my case, several had no idea that I currently work for Amazon.
But at some point they would figure it out, right? Would he actually be able to get an offer if he did well in the interview? At what stage in the process would the recruiter do an internal background check on him.
I know twitch has a separate Hr system from Amazon, right now. So if you want to apply, do it now. Later it might all be integrated
they will easily be able to tell once you send them your resume. so if they are reaching out, simply share your resume and go from there. if there is a no-rehire policy, they'll see Amazon on their and do their dillegence. not sure id want to work for a place that let me go "without merit" again though.
How did they hunt down if it was anonymous
Same username on a different site. That site had a link to another page with my real name
Someone can frame you using same username. You could have denied it.
