Amazon to Blackstone?
Currently work at Amazon in Seattle as a Senior Product Manager and got an offer to work at Blackstone in NYC as a product manager in their internal IT department, automating internal processes. Total comp is about the same. I’d like to move to NYC, which is originally why I took the interview. That said, if I take the offer, how would it affect my career?

I worked in the financial industry for 6 years before getting out of that industry. First off, in mho, you are always the second class citizen compared to the finance guys. I personally hated it, you are the lost in P&L, your whole existence is to be on beck and call for the "business" and they will remind you of that everyday. It's not impossible to get out once you're in, but it's a bit of a challenge. Since you did worked at Amazon, you won't be discounted when you decide to go back into tech. If you're in finance, make sure you are aggressive asking for comp, $$$ the only way I see it as being worth it to be a second class citizen.
