To be on Medi-cal, you total property cannot be more than $2000. How do you manage that? My Medi-cal was denied last December due to that. Only have calfresh and applying to calworks now.
PM me if you want. Was on it while searching for jobs. Medi-cal is a must since if you don’t have healthcare, the IRS will penalize you. Also it’s good to have in case of emergencies. I had some money in savings but couldn’t afford COBRA ($2k/month) nor Obamacare which would’ve been at least $700/m for a family of 3. If you’re single, ACA would be inexpensive.
What’s the difference between ACA and medi-cal? My understanding is that medi-cal is just California’s implementation of the ACA? Thanks for offering help, health insurance is so confusing!
ACA is a marketplace where you can buy your own health insurance, kinda like what companies do now, except well, you do it individually. Medi-Cal is welfare healthcare. It only has a limited list of doctors that accept it but it’s better than nothing. It also covers quite a bit, id say medi-cal has better coverage than “bronze” tier ACA plans.
So let me get this straight, you left your job at a fortune 500 company for your business that's not even making money yet?
People I know are on it
Do you know how they proved their assets were less than $2k?
Were they asked to show their bank account statements?
