Apartment recommendations? Within FB 10 mile radius

My girlfriend works in San Ramon and I'll soon be starting my job at Facebook. We're looking for a middle ground for better commute. Considering the 10 mile radius bonus at Facebook, any modern apartment recommendations in Fremont/Newark/Union City/anywhere in East Bay? What we want from an apartment: Stainless steel appliances Non-shitty hopefully good AC/Heater units Decent rates Safe neighborhood Easy access to groceries/food

We are in similar situation and we choose to live in San Mateo. Notice that only east of San Mateo downtown (east of 92 bridge) is within 10 miles. Foster city is another good choice (again needs to be east of 92 bridge) within many apartments to choose from. It would be around 25 mins to FB and 45 mins to San Roman regardless morning or evening commute. We have done a lot of research to minimize the commute and this is the best we come up. Note that FB has shuttles to San Mateo (at event center) and Foster City in case you don’t want to drive.

This is helpful. Thank you. I'll look around those areas. I was only focused on the East Bay

Try Archstone in Fremont. May not get the stainless steel appliances but everything else is good.

I visited but Haven't toured yet. What do it like about it?

The size of the apartments is good and it’s not too old. You can rent a storage space with every apartment for a nominal amount as well(might be able to negotiate on the amount you pay for it). Washer and dryer in apartment. Central heating and air conditioning. Good size closets. Good light in home and open floor plans. Key card access to building, pool, club room with pool table, leasing office package pickup. One issue is that you can park only one car inside. All other cars have to be parked outside. Another thing to note is that the community only has AT&T as an internet and TV provider.
