I got a dog and also now I
do mindfulness meditations where I just sit silently and observe things (internal and external) like watching clouds go by. Worked wonders for my depression and anxiety.
Before that I tried CBT, exercise, vitamins, supplements, crying, stress eating, drinking, marijuana, bubble baths, journaling, video games, hanging out with friends, leetcoding, none of these coping methods worked as well as mindfulness and puppy love.
Edit: I do get chemical imbalance every month from PMS. With mindfulness meditation, I’ve become more aware of it sneaking up on me and don’t let it control me.
