Average bonus & stock refreshers at Microsoft India ?

Folks from Microsoft India can you please chime in ? From what I know so far, people get 50% of target bonus if they "meet expectations", but this is too "general" IMO and more details would help. Also interested in the refreshers part since I recently got an offer and super low balled with on-hire stocks.

Current TC: 37.5 LPA (base) and 5 LPA stocks
Offered TC for L63 (~11 yoe) - 40.5 (base), 28k stocks, 0-30% performance, 7 (joining bonus)

A campus hire with 0 yoe gets 30k stock. That is a fact. If you accept anything less than that you're selling yourself short.

Ah okay. I guess it comes down to how much you want to join MS. The base salary is unheard of for a 63, I would even say you're trolling the other 63s tbh it's that good.
If you feel talking to the HM makes sense then go for it,since you'd know their pulse by now. Don't want to appear too greedy though unless you're prepared to walk away...

😂😂 definitely not trolling! I don't want to walk away tbh but I do want to (politely) run it by HM just to be sure. And now I feel as if I am being denied L64 for some reason. maybe it's the interview feedback.. (Dunno)

Btw the stock refresher period is 5 years (as per offer).. Not 4.

Your base is decent w.r.t to Oracle standard of salary hikes and yoe. Did you join Oracle recently at with good hike ?

Yes stocks are low. In other threads, L62 are given 70-80k of the stocks. But it can vary a lot between offer to offer.

This is my guess. I might be wrong. I think HR is trying to fit you into L63 bracket. Base of 40.5 is on the high end of L63. This is usually average L64 base ( mentioned in other threads). 28k over four years boils down to 5 LPA per year. Max 30% of bonus will fetch you 12lpa. Total TC is around 57-58LPA. This looks more a L63 range. Average bonus is usually half of target range. Not sure if this is based on interview feedback.

Rest all looks good for L63. Stocks needs to be increased. Else you are not really getting anything more compared to what you are leave in current company.

You might right.. And your point about "interview feedback" is interesting. Not sure if I should reach out to hiring manager (we share a good rapport) one last time. Offer going to expire soon

Interview feedback and level decision if usually first stage of offer. I am sure hiring manager would have been involved in that decision. Only after that HR will move further. But not a bad idea to reach out and check HM views.

I wouldn’t say he’s trolling my base 5 year ago as 63 was 32 so I would be surprised if it were less than 40

I have seen L63 base ranging from 33-40 odd (blind)

I have seen 35 as average L63 base on blind. Not sure if base range has moved higher during last five years. But for sure stocks grant has increased in MS offer to remain competitive ( even seen 140 k grants in blind)
