I used to actually look at company ratings before accepting or even applying for a job. Until I started working at a startup and realized how manipulated the data is. Say KM a company of 100, they have 35 ass kissers in top management and give 5 star feedback. Top of the list of best places to work in America ... huh?? Anyone have experience on how do they actually rate the companies and how to interpret the ratings? Are they truer for bigger companies?
I worked at a startup which encouraged people to rate them on Glassdoor, but I put real criticism on there.
Guys, we found the mole.
I mean the issue here is with a small company even though it is anonymous easier to pinpoint who might have said what. I use these rankings for my job search so I would never be dishonest on them.
Blind is the best source of real data imo
I once worked for a company that won the best place to work in San Jose and then one month after the award they did a massive layoff and we're sold to a competitor to be eliminated.
I literally did same thing during my senior year at college. Found bunch of rankings and applied everywhere
I wouldn't believe those rankings of best places to work.
Sometime ago there was a company called BestPlaceToWork that would go to a company and make the employees complete an anonymous survey and, based on that, decide which company was the best place to work. Not sure if it is still around...
