You’ll get lowball (but reasonable) base, with guaranteed bonus on your first year. One of the companies on wall street with best benefits.

You’ll see 3-5% increase in base to match the inflation, along with ~12-18% bonus every year; assuming you are meeting or exceeding expectations. Again, all these depends on the location and the Team. Heard, some teams get paid more than other...

@YeRRy22 Your increases aren’t exactly typical because you started below the poverty line and you changed roles to a TL...

***The median for TLs Is 350K at Bloomberg ***

      ... so you’re still underpaid.

New grads start at 160 now and no they do not see increases like yours.

I got hired less than a year after you at 50% more than you, so my raises were in the 7-10% range and last year I got a 15% bump. Not a TL.

Google, TL is not tech lead, it’s team lead and it’s a people manager role. TLs should not be making any technical decisions especially if there are real senior engineers around My TL’s technical expertise is abysmal. Literally embarrassing, but I can exactly say that to him. I just cringe every time when he speaks out in a meeting with other teams.

How do you know that's the median for TLs at the company?

For 11 YOE, you should ask for 225k at least. If you have some specialized experience, goes up from there

Also remember you'll pay $0 for Healthcare, for your whole family. 50% 401k match as well. Those are biggest 2 perks as I can remember at the moment

What’s the outcome of staying two years at BBG? How many ppl will locate a real finance job? Like dev/quant at fund or bank? (Personally I’m interested in finance)

Bloomberg trading restrictions are actually good for you !
You are not wasting time and money on futures and options or day trading.

Futures haven’t made shot money since the last 10 years

I make around 4000-5000 monthly by trading options. Then how can you say it is good for me.

Then better stay in HCL as you won’t be making more than 5k extra by joining Bloomberg

PS Haha the range depends on the team? What a crock. You can verify that it’s not the case by asking for more when switching teams and getting shut down because HR will tell you that you’ll be doing essentially the same job.

Don’t take anything less than 250... even 270. Might be quite hard to go higher than that without competing offers from top companies. Your bonus should be 15-20% of your base, so you do your own math.

They’ll get you your GC though, so there’s that to consider.

In NYC they cannot ask about your previous salary — it’s illegal, so don’t worry about that.

    Good luck, bro. ✊🏻

You’ll need to give more context about the role you got the offer for. your current TC, and are you currently employed in NYC? Do you need visa sponsor? Did you get the offer? Or yet to goto the onsite interview?
