In these times, our integrity is tested like never before.
Blizzard has no Tegrity
I would think on Blind, people would be smarter than to fall for this whole thing. Should there be a Microsoft boycott for stuff like this which, unlike suspending a Hearthstone player, would directly contribute to human rights abuses if true? https://amp.businessinsider.com/microsoft-china-muslim-crackdown-ai-partnership-complicit-2019-4 It took me a few seconds to Google that, I'm sure I could find more equally anecdotal things about half your companies. You'd say "that's not true" or "that's different" for any number of reasons I'm sure. Maybe you'd be right, but that's kind of my point. Think about the last time your company was in a situation like this. How much of what was in the press was actually true? How much of the Reddit outrage was remotely based in fact?
If people want to boycott Microsoft over that, then they should go ahead. But whataboutism is never a good excuse to prevent people from doing good things. The more that people care about this stuff, the better. And that is true regardless if other bad things are also happening.
And if there are some facts that are wrong about the situation, then Blizzard has the obligation to say something about it. Just saying "oh, what if the facts are wrong?" Is a horrible argument if blizzard is unwilling to actually state what specifically is wrong.
Good
Good for him. Blizzard is scum
It was his own fault bringing politics to the table.
Good.
