Hi, I just received entry-level software engineer offer at Bloomberg. One big reason I like BB is I assume they deal with lots of financial data, and actually I do have experiences and passion for data analysis and machine learning. So I'm wondering about the possibility of data-oriented the career growth path at Bloomberg? Generally I could think of two possibilities: 1. Switch to data scientist-like role, learning lots of financial-related domain knowledge. 2. Become machine learning software engineer (MLE). Any comments? Thanks
If you want to do ML, you may be lucky enough to be placed on an ML team. If not, you can apply to the fall 2019 ML 101 training. It's an intensive 3-4 month ML bootcamp.
Thanks! How many ML-related team BB have? Or what's the chance that a new grad can get into a ML-related team? ....Also, very glad to hear there's such a great 3-4 month ML bootcamp? But would this bootcamp have conflict with C++/Python/JS bootcamp?
No idea how many ML teams/roles there are, tbh The ML 101 bootcamp is separate from the new hire bootcamp. Last year, roughly 25% of applicants were admitted, mostly based on previous math background
doesn't make any difference. all tracks require lc.
Tc?
Just standard BB package for new grad
What is it. Numbers please
