My significant other and I are leaving Winterfell for warmer climate and better jobs this year. We decided on King’s Landing because of the stable growth of the city. However real estate prices are very high and we are not sure if we should rent or buy? Also keep in mind the Lannister’s are expecting war which might drive prices up even higher. But we don’t want want to move in with my SO’s parents in the Iron Islands for obvious reasons.. When did Westeros become so expensive?
Buy if you think you are going to live longer than 7 weeks.
I would seriously consider a move to Essos given the shitty geopolitics and instability in the Seven Kingdoms. You can easily buy a clay hut in Mereen for half the amount you’d pay in KL.
This is true, but we are worried about the live-life-balance in Essos. We read that there’s lots of petty crime and civilian violence going on right now
Just look for safe neighborhoods and you’ll be fine. There’s a thriving night life scene now that slavery has been eliminated. Source: I live there
Just don’t work for the Iron Bank, tech is treated as a second class citizen
I was actually thinking about switching to work for ironBanking.. is it not worth it?
I heard they are hiring for a secret blockchain thing. So yes, you can apply if that’s your thing.
Don't buy or rent. Just become a dothraki and roam around.
How did that work out for them?
Like an audience during a justin bieber concert. Only the inspiring song got cut abruptly.
Considering you won’t live through the next week - rent all the way
What do you mean? Are you referring to the geopolitical conflict?
Have you considered Highgarden? The climate is even better and people are a lot more relaxed. Work life balance there is fantastic
I actually haven’t considered Highgarden. But I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about the place. I actually used to visit in the summertime as a child, lovely place
Might be an unpopular opinion but i recently moved to dorne and haven't looked back. Decent weather, great fruits because of bustling trading scene here, and dirt cheap real estate. If you can get some land here before it is gentrified in next 5 years, you're golden.
I heard there are a lot of vacancies recently north of the Wall. Why don't you invest there but live south? Especially with border lift recently, there's free trade with the northern area and no gang war there either.
Eh, we are trying to avoid the cold, hence movin south
Was the problem with cannibalism eliminated north of the wall?
Casterly Rock is currently unoccupied. It needs a bit of rebuilding work but if you decide to live there, you can save up the rebuilding cost by avoiding king’s landing. I’d still say there’s just one person who has bid for it and chances are you can win that bid
One of my best friends used to work as a guard when Casterly Rock was occupied. Sadly he passed away due to the ruler at the time’s incompetence
This is a serious post, please only vote if you are familiar with the area please!! Thank you!!
This is the best post in Blind history.
The comments are gold.
