What are pros and cons. I want to own a perfect home at minimum cost. But I dont want to comprise on any obvius things. I feel condos are cheaper so I am more inclined towards that. Plus some comes with cool amenities in building itself. But I don't know what are some major cons there. 2 adults. 1 child. And maybe 1-2 guests sometimes in several months.
What are your reason ??? What is ur pro and cons list for condo vs house
updated the description now
For condo - You pay yearly HOA and don't own any piece of land. Easy to rent out. Mostly an investment property than primary residence.
House may mean more maintenance for the home owner, condos have a home owners association that maintains common grounds. Condos may have other perks like a gym and a pool in the common area maintained by your HOA. Condos are cheaper but after factoring in the HOAs fee are usually more expensive on a month to month basis. Home owners have more independence nd don't have a to answer to a HOA. Good luck
Also some HOAs chose horrible colors to paint your house from the outside and will refuse to let you change color
Condos really aren't cheaper in the $/sqft sense but they do tend to be smaller than houses so the total price might be less. It really depends what you're looking for in a home. Perhaps your concerns with a condo would be space for the kid and the guests and you need to carefully look at the association's financials before buying to make sure there won't be any surprises. I've owned both. What I like about my condo now is that it's in a vibrant neighborhood with everything within walking distance, I don't have to do yard work, and the building is pretty secure so I don't have to worry much about mail and package thefts.
Never buy a condo
Buy my condo, I'm selling. Not trolling.
Location?
Millbrae, close to Bart/Caltrain on El Camino.
Condo association boards are evil, often packed with busybodies who have nothing better to do than police their fellow owners. In a condo you are also more likely to get stuck with a "neighbor from hell", in very close proximity, and with no recourse.
