Last week I accepted an Amazon offer for a software engineer position. Job starts in about 4 months from now. Now I got an offer from Google that I prefer. Is it OK to cancel the Amazon contract a week after I signed it? Would they black list me or something? Contract is "employment at will", with no notice period.
Is it bad if they blacklist you? Do you see yourself wanting to go to Amazon after a year of Google?
Don’t join a job just because you’re afraid of future blacklist. Do what’s best for you now. Nobody cares if you declined an offer. Maybe even use both the offers to maximize tc while you still have them in hand. If you still decide amazon at least re-neg!
Nobody blacklists. I would say wait till get a good team at Google.
nope. you’re fooked
TC???
WA is an "employement at will" state, employer or employee do not need a reason to terminate employment, without advance notice. Two weeks notice is a standard courtesy to not be in bad terms.
You can't accept a deal then back out and expect to ever come back to the table
Amazon is a terrible employer I worked for them before and I never want to go back! You should be happy to be black listed by them!
Btw Amazon has a rule that each team should fire 10% of employees at end of each year / project and hire better ones! Do you really think that contact means anything to them? No contracts it doesn't mean shit to Amazon!
Yep, you will be blacklisted
