As title states, i cleared the phone interview and was invited onsite. I read up about IS&T online and nobody has good things to say about that org. Do you think its possible to ask the recruiter to connect me with other teams as well outside of IS&T while still keeping the onsite option open if nothing works out? I'm currently in Austin, TX and the recruiter said position is open both in bay area and Austin. Current TC : $120k
I used to work in IS&T. It's not the ideal place to be, but if this is your first large tech company go for it. It's fairly possible to switch teams internally, they won't label you as anything.
Thanks for responding. If you don't mind me asking, what team/general part of IS&T were you in? I'm interviewing for IDMS but haven't heard great things. On the flip side have heard some good things about retail engineering. Thoughts?
You heard right, IDMS is a very boring and political place. I dont have any experience with retail engineering but I can tell you that the IDMS rumours are true. But like I said, it's still Apple.
Some of the nicest, hard working and most talented people I met were from IS&T. You can always transfer internally and if you have a good manager he or she will support your career growth. Good luck
Thanks for responding. Would you mind sharing which team these people belonged to? Also, isn't the entire issue with IS&T that they have terrible managers in most teams? That's what almost every online post says about IS&T atleast.
Quite possibly that recruiter only works with one Org. You might be better off just applying for other Orgs directly.
Thanks for replying. I'm curious to hear what your, and the general opinion by folks in other orgs is for IS&T? Have you ever heard of anyone transferring from IS&T to an outer org internally?
Not many other groups are in Austin afaik
