I think the entire global warming narratives going to collapse over the next two years.

That said this is a great opportunity to focus our attention on the legitimate environmental challenges. Protecting eco systems and bio diversity is the real issue. Let’s not build a bunch of terrible solar and wind power that will ruin ecosystems that are much more valuable.

Where are you in good faith man. Do you think the study is not valid because of the data I’m talking about is not on their homepage? I don’t believe you’re that stupid I think you’re just being a douche

Are you a climate scientist by training? Cause I'm not. I just have a lowly bachelor in computer science, so I'm not going to pretend I can understand raw climate data when I can barely read research papers in my own field. That's why we have experts who spend decades specializing in a field.

How are you going to cite the NOAA, then when presented with evidence from the NOAA, in a language both of us can understand, refuse to just acknowledge it.

I’m a data scientist and I think that the consensus climate models are over playing the impact of human emissions by a factor of two.

Not saying there’s not climate change, obviously there is. It’s just that at least half of that changes due to fluctuation in the orbit of the earth. In fact there is a significant bit of uncertainty over the impact of human emotions. It’s just too complicated and we don’t have enough clean data overtime

Well you seem pretty certain that this very specific set of data is evidence that climate change is not happening

Although I’m extremely skeptical of this, what about the rise in ocean temperatures? The record breaking cold. The record breaking storms? The flooding? The melting ice caps? The melting permafrost? The releases of pockets of methane gas as permafrost melts? The fact that the artic was crossable by ship for the first time ever? Get your head out of your fucking ass!

It’s global climate change. Some places will get warmer, others will get colder, but overall we are headed to a less hospitable world. Also lol at the source.

It’s 100+ temperature stations evenly distributed over continental US. Over 15 years.

The fact is the entire continent hasn’t warmed a bit in the last 15 years. I mean are you trying to say you think the worlds going to end in 10 years? I mean there’s a pretty big gap between this basic evidence in the hysteria. All reasonable people are going to come to this conclusion

Wow really brought out the Flat earthers with this.

You realize that this date is from our own government climate organization?

You realize that this is the cleanest data set ever assembled over a 15 year period?

You realize why the other historical records have flaws which is why our Premier climate institute under took this project 15 years ago right?

It's not US warming, it's global warming. The temperature in other parts of the world, like the ocean and the polar caps is a lot more relevant.

100% of my Lyft rides have been shitty because I've used Lyft one time. Can I then use that fact to confirm that 100% of all Lyft drivers are shitty?

Regardless of Climate Change or not (which - for the record - I believe is true, just look at glaciers disappearing, record temperatures all over the world, and a lot of scientists working in this field) - REGARDLESS of all that, trying to be better humans, less wasteful, and reducing emissions should be something we pursue anyways. Even if climate change had nothing to do with it.

Sure, we we are debating trillion dollar programs. The accuracy of our models is very important to calibrating the correct policy response. Germany is a great example of how easy it is to waste money chase the carbon dragon

    • SRI International / Eng awoo
I disagree. Being less wasteful or using the transportation more efficiently or effectively doesn’t require trillions of dollars. Services like Waze Carpool or even moving closer to where you work/working remotely can all be useful tools.

I think it’s a good idea, to use sustainable construction material, furthermore leveraging wind and solar can be a great tools in combination with hydroelectric for power generation and energy storage. Washington state does a pretty good job at that and in Europe a bunch of countries.
