Commute vs Location Tradeoff

My wife will be working in downtown Seattle and I'll be working on the Eastside. We like the idea of living in Issaquah or Sammamish as it's beautiful there, but the commute to the city in traffic looks pretty bad (up to 1 hour). Do you all think it's worth living far for a nice location, or prioritize living close to work? Any suggestions for alternative areas??

Live in Seattle, better views and city life. Sammamish and Insaquah are suburban hell holes covered with commercial plazas and endless houses. πŸ†

Idk do you want to to spend 2 hours of your life every day on the road? Go see the mountains on the weekend

100% Eastside. If you are an Eastside person. I am and love it. If you are a Seattle person live there. One is more elitist than others. Judge by the comments here...

Issaquah Highlands or Klahanie. Express bus from P&R to Seattle DT takes about 45 min. Get noise cancelling headphones and enjoy the ride. Close to i90. Decent commute to Bellevue. Redmond is ok as well. There are lots of new apartments on Gilman in Issaquah, these will be closer to another transit center, shorter ride to Seattle.
