Hi Currently I’m working as a software engineer with less than 2 YOE in DevOps background. I aimed at FAANG but interviewed and failed at every single one of those. I want to switch jobs now and would like to try FAANG again at a later time. Since I have recently interviewed for Google, Fb, Amazon, Apple my coding skills are still fresh and completed about 300+ problems on leetcode If you know some good midsized companies that hire with more focus on coding interviews and doesn’t really care about my background, please suggest Thanks in advance!!!
Yep took almost 9 months to complete those many and never looked at a solution May be I’m not up to the level of FAANG, that’s why thinking to apply for non-FAANG companies
People do FANG with 200 LCs. How you failed questions then? You faced with all hards or never seen problems? Don't be offended, cus I am on similar boat. Maybe you should consider to re-apply to FANG before give up?
Yep I definitely will try for FAANG and will join one in some point of time, but not now coz of cool off period Haven’t got feedback from a single recruiter after onsite except that they say I’m really close, so I really don’t know where I can improve
Leetcode is a refresher/aid. You cant only do Leetcode and expect to be successful
Sad but absolutely true
I passed G interviews before leetcode existed. Now that it does, I failed!
I would actually like to know what companies hire engineers based not on coding, actually. Preferably by looks, I can ace that shit easy.
Well last month I have interviewed with couple of companies who asked about docker/container and kubernetes stuff which I never worked before I believe I can learn them once I join the company but if they look for those in the interviews I cannot ace them at all That’s why looking I’m looking for companies which hire based on coding interviews as main focus
I think you would have been better off if u interviewed at other companies first. The pattern I see is people acquire interview skills after a few attempts. Then, they refine leetcode and reinterview after a few months to a year then they start passing more. Here are some: UIpath, Cruise automation, Uber, Microsoft, Snap, Qualtrics. In fact, all the companies these days have very similar styles as FANG companies.
Yep lesson learnt.... Thanks for the list though
Curious how you failed with 300 LCs? Were those honestly submitted?
