TikTok Internal Situation. Should I join with huge bump in compensation?
I have an offer from TikTok and was going to join. Could someone from TikTok tell me how the current situation looks internally? What would you recommend given that you know the situation better than me? I’m not on H1B. TC offered at TikTok is 320k which is a huge bump on my current TC.

That you wouldn't be employable in the US after TikTok and it won't be because of your abilities. Depends on how TikToks situation shakes out. Huawei is an example.

50/50 gamble. If you join, we beat the bill in court, you likely get even more scope and $$. If u join, and we lose the fight, you lose a bit of time and have to rebuild
Wouldn't join TikTok even if there was a 100% probability of there being no ban based on what I heard about the culture alone

I’m joining, starting next week. I’m getting a decent TC bump too. Worst case scenario is you work there for a year and then leave or TikTok gets sold to a FAANG. I’ll take the risk lol

That’s true they could make that case. Either way I still think it’s worth getting experience at TikTok vs my current company. I’m primarily going to use it as a stepping stone for my next move

I think TikTok is going to be a black mark - I'd only come here as a last stop before retirement. I can't make connections on linkedin because people think i betrayed my country. posts on blind say us employees should go to jail. I'm not getting much traction in the job search. I'm embarrassed to be working here.

Don’t join just for the pay bump. It’s not worth it.
If not on visa, join it for the pay bump, worst case it got banned and you can rest for a few months before another job. But you're on visa, that brings too much uncertainty and stress.
